SUSTAINABILITY Analyst

EQ is seeking an experienced Sustainability Analyst to join our virtual Toronto-based team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with some of the country’s most innovative and sustainable buildings. The Sustainability Analyst will assist the project manager in actively managing green building projects from concept design through to construction completion to ensure sustainability targets are achieved.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following.
Assist in the green building rating process for various institutional, commercial, and high-rise residential buildings.
Assist in completing whole building life cycle analysis in compliance with Zero Carbon Building, LEED®, Toronto Green Standard, or similar standards.
Report on building embodied carbon results and strategies for reducing embodied carbon.
Participate in integrated design meetings to facilitate sustainability solutions from a multi-disciplinary consulting team.
Review design and construction drawings to verify and document environmental performance.
Review construction materials disclosure data to assess life cycle carbon emissions.
Collect and track LEED®, WELL, Toronto Green Standard, Zero Carbon Building Standard, Energy Star Multifamily and other green building standard submittal documentation provided by the project team and review for completeness and accuracy.
Attend site meetings throughout the construction phase and perform site reviews as needed.
Review design and construction submissions and provide assistance during the green building certification process.
Undertake research and summarize findings on sustainability, energy, and carbon.
Any duties as assigned to meet Company objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s or masters degree in engineering, construction technology, architecture / building science, environmental studies, or a closely related field.
0-3 years experience in a consulting/construction capacity. Exposure to the green building industry, through school projects, internships or through employment in the architectural / industry is a strong asset.
LEED® AP or GA certification or willingness to pursue.
Experience with OneClick LCA, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam and other construction design tools is an asset.
Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Sound problem solving and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Able to manage deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Requires home office with occasional travel to office, construction sites or client offices.
Ability to attend and participate in meetings, often remotely from home, using software (MicrosoftTeams, Zoom, Skype, etc.).
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
