Commissioning Project Coordinator

EQ is seeking a Commissioning Project Coordinator to join our growing team. The Commissioning Project Coordinator will be responsible for helping to ensure building mechanical and electrical systems are designed, installed, and operate according to the Owner’s operational goals. Commissioned systems include major building systems such as heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment (HVAC&R), domestic water systems, energy and water sub-meters, renewable energy systems, and lighting systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following.

  • Perform site inspections to verify the installation and functionality of mechanical/electrical building systems in large multiunit residential, mixed-use, and commercial buildings.

  • Attend site meetings with trades to review construction process and discuss issues related to building systems.

  • Perform and/or witness equipment start-up and various functional testing systems.

  • Diagnose and report on operational issues related to building systems. Create deficiency reports with periodic updates to ensure outstanding issues are resolved and corrected.

  • Coordinate and attend training sessions related to newly installed systems.

  • Assist in the creation of final commissioning report and systems manual to be supplied to building management staff post-occupancy.

  • Review contractor shop drawings for accuracy and consistency with the Owner’s overall intent.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering technology, construction technology, or a closely related field.

  • Experience in the construction industry is an asset.

  • AutoCAD and Revit experience an asset.

  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Sound problem solving and organizational skills.

  • Able to work in a team environment and in a high stress, fast paced environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Office and construction site environment

  • Office equipment use (computer, copier, etc.)

  • Lifting or moving up to 10lbs may be required.
